Business Development & Fundraising Officer

Department
The Business Development Department’s main responsibility is to acquire financial means for the organisation. The central focus of the department is to seek out and apply for funding from governmental institutions, NGOs and trust funds. The department is directed by the Director Business Development. Two paid Managers manage the business development activities, each with the help of one or more Business Development Officer.

Function
As Business Development & Fundraising Officer, you will participate in the development of strategies and proposals to raise funds from different potential donors. You will look for appropriate financiers to support Fairfood. You will expand the (international) network, you will establish and maintain partnerships with organizations and donors. Also, you will have the opportunity to attend conferences and represent the organization.

Your competences Your are studying at or have graduated from a higher education institution (HBO) or university or have acquired an equivalent working and thinking level through work experience. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; another European language is a plus. You are able to work well both independently and within a team. Furthermore, you are result oriented, creative and have well-developed social skills. Obviously, you have affinity with Fairfood’s goals.

This is an unpaid position which is suited as an internship to get working experience in this particular field of work and at an NGO. We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation. You will have the freedom and opportunities to continue developing yourself and achieve tangible results. We value our employees and we fully recognise that flexibility in the amount of working hours might be important for you. To create a beneficial relationship for both parties, we prefer you to work for a minimum of sixteen hours a week for a period of at least three months.
