Meet Anselm Iwundu, Fairfood International’s new Executive Director
Posted on 18 July 2011, 17:01

We are delighted to announce that Anselm Iwundu will be the new executive director of Fairfood International as of the 1st of August.
Following Frank van der Linde’s departure from the role, we are pleased that our search for a new leader has led us to someone as dedicated to Fairfood International as Anselm.
Anselm Iwundu joined Fairfood four years ago and is currently the director of the research department. Anselm is a strongly focused professional with profound knowledge and vision on advocating for sustainable food production. Anselm has an MBA in environment and energy management from the University of Twente and since 2008 he is doing a PhD focused on innovation and governance for sustainable development. Born in 1978 and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Anselm currently lives in The Netherlands since 2006.
Anselm has a personal interest in the success of Fairfood’s mission. He explains: “My parents are retired professionals now fully engaged in food and agriculture – they manage family farms that supply to local businesses and markets. At each visit, I sit with farm workers and listen to their personal stories. The stories they narrate about the dynamics of sustainability in the food industry and how it affects their life are intriguing and to some extent, traumatic. Which makes our mission to make the food industry sustainable by approaching food companies all the more essential and I am privileged to lead the organisation towards realising it”.
