Support streams in for wake up call

To support the spread of our campaign, ‘Wake up Emerald Nuts’ and reach an even bigger audience, Change.org the platform hosting our petition, has increased the pressure. A staggering 13,000 people have signed the petition.

The campaign is calling on snack food giant Diamond Foods to be transparent about the places their cashew nuts are produced and the social circumstances under which this is done. Until now Diamond Foods still did not give us the clear answer we seek: What steps does Diamond Foods take to ensure child labour is not utilised in any part of the production of its cashew nuts?

Earlier this year, change.org members pointed their arrows at forced labor in the flower industry. 50.000 members signed a petition directed towards 1-800-Flowers, the largest florist inAmerica. Within 72 hours, the company agreed to offer a Fair Trade collection, publish information on flower sourcing and create a code of conduct for suppliers, prohibiting them to use forced and child labour. This demonstrates that civil actions can work and your voice counts!

If you haven’t signed our petition yet, you can still do so here.
