Our Advisory Board consists of an international network of prominent experts representing different nationalities and professional backgrounds. Their role is to provide relevant advice to the Executive Board on strategic matters and to expand the professional network of the organisation. The Advisory Board members support the organisation voluntarily; they have no legal fiduciary responsibility and no authority to vote on corporate matters.
Guus has been Charity Manager at Rabobank Nederland since 2007 and is specialist in partnerships for 130 local Rabobank Cooperatives and Private Wealth Bank Schretlen & CO. Prior to that, he was Manager Major Donors & Legacies for WWF Netherlands. He is also advisor of Prince Bernhard Culture Fund. He studied Private and Penalty Law at University Utrecht, Business Marketing at the University of Groningen and recently started the Social Entrepreneurship Course at Insead in France. He is a member of Fairfood’s Advisory Board since 2013.
Gerrit is the founder of Real Time Branding, a Dutch brand and concept development company. He also serves as Chairman of the European Advisory Board of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. Gerrit has advised a wide range of international companies on commercial strategy, branding, leadership and culture. Earlier in his career, Gerrit served as the CEO of a number of fashion and retail companies and as a board member in several companies. He joined Fairfood’s Advisory Board in 2013.
Jordan Dey is the Vice President at GrainPro. Inc. He is also the co-founder and principal of HKS Global, where he advises governments, international organisations, businesses and non-profits on democratic governance and food security. He previously served as US Director for the UN World Food Program and as Policy Advisor to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke at the US State Department. Jordan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Santa Cruz and earned a Master´s degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He joined Fairfood’s Advisory Board in 2012.
Roeland is a certified counsellor of the Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy and an independent consultant in career counselling, organisational coaching and interim Human Resource Management. Throughout his career, Roeland also worked with KPMG, PwC, and Philips International. He is a member of Fairfood’s Advisory Board since 2012.
Shalini is Director of Advocacy and Partnerships at Global Fund for Women after having served as Vice President of Programs for more than 6 years. She is a board member of Grantmakers Without Borders and the Women’s Funding Network, among others, and serves on the advisory committees of several social justice and human rights organisations. Prior to that, Shalini worked as Associate Director at the Reebok Human Rights Award Program, was Director of International Programs for the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and worked with community organisations in Asia, Africa and the United States. Shalini is a member of Fairfood’s Advisory Board since 2012.
Michael is Agriculture Specialist at GSMA. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of Fairtrade Africa and Africa Manager of the Fairtrade Foundation, contributing to leverage organisational, technical and financial support for African producers. Michael has a Master of Science in Agriculture, Food Security and Natural Resources Management from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. He joined Fairfood’s Advisory Board in 2012.
Max is the founder of True Welfare Foundation. He previously worked at Ecorys Netherlands where he served as CEO, Chairman and Senior Partner. Max built his career within the Netherlands Economic Institute (NEI) since 1981. In the late nineties, NEI merged with Kolpron and ECOTEC to become Ecorys. Prior to that, Max also worked for the United Nations Development Programme in South Korea. He has a Master’s degree from the School of Development Studies, University of Norwich and a Bachelor in institutional economics from Groningen University. Max is a member of Fairfood’s Advisory Boards since 2012.
Pierre is Managing Director of the Rabobank Foundation since 2008. He is a board member of the President Rotary Club‘s Hertogenbosch division; Terrafina Micro Finance; Nice International; MicroNed and European Micro Finance Platform. Pierre has been working with Rabobank since 1978 where he has held many positions in both The Netherlands and Poland. He joined Fairfood’s Advisory Board in 2012.
Amit Shiwani is an Associate Director at the International Consultancy firm E & Y specialising in mergers and aquisitions, strategy, business planning, digital strategy and business modelling. He helps key decision makers in organizations across several sectors and industries to create value through transactions. Additionally, he mentors start-ups to create market entry strategies, business planning and opportunity analysis.
Amit is an engineer and has an MBA in Strategy from Nyenrode Business School (Netherlands) / Kelloggs School of Management(USA). He is passionate about organizations actively working to create value in communities by raising awareness. He has been a member of Fairfood’s Advisory Board since 2012.
