Proactively recommending Solutions

As part of our advocacy work, we constantly work to facilitate progress especially in the area of implementation. To assist food companies with implementing sustainability measures, Fairfood International analyses several available initiatives and recommends them as possible solutions to food companies during our conversations with brand owners. We believe that a proactive action ,such as recommending potentially viable and well-researched solutions to companies, will provide the necessary support towards the companies as they work towards increasing the overall sustainability of their products. We also study the best practices in the field and are willing to recommend some suitable customized solutions to food companies as well as implementation partners.

Although Fairfood’s advocacy work does not include direct implementation of sustainability solutions, many organisations who are Fairfood’s partners do and will be recommended to food companies on request. We urge food companies to engage the services of such expert NGOs. Furthermore, we challenge companies in general to extend so far as to consider reimbursing the services and efforts of NGOs who are striving to make their business more sustainable and for them to internalise these costs.
