The Campaign and Lobby department of Fairfood is currently recruiting a:

Project Assistant Citizens

  • Unpaid position
  • 16-32 hours a week
  • Starting date: Immediately or to be discussed

Campaign & Lobby
The Campaign & Lobby department is responsible for selling the Fairfood message to four different target groups: food and beverage brand owners; food and beverage resellers (like restaurants or caterers); politicians and consumers in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Furthermore, the Campaign & Lobby department is responsible for strengthening Fairfood's base. These projects are led by five paid project leaders, each with the help of two to four unpaid project assistants.

What are the responsibilities of the Project Assistant Citizens?
The project Citizens main objective is to ask people to sign a fair/unfair petition and by doing so subscribing the core message of Fairfood. Fairfood wants to increase support among the public with these petitions. By signing a petition you will stimulate companies to produce fair products.
The Committee of Recommendation is also part of the project Citizens. Captains from the area of poverty reduction and politicians will be asked to subscribe the core message of Fairfood.
These names will be put on Fairfoods website to show the public there is a solid support group among trusted Dutch people. These names can also be used when lobbying for Fairfood.
As Project Assistant Citizens you will be responsible to set up and execute the project. You will take care of all logistics involved so people can actually sign petitions at festivals and events.
Besides that you will work on the execution of the strategy regarding the Committee of Recommendation, in close cooperation with the Project Leader Citizens.

Your tasks are among others:

  • To work out strategies concerning petitions in cooperation with the Project Leader Citizens.
  • Taking care Fairfood is represented at events and festivals on a regular basis
  • To contact and maintain contact with supporters who will join these events and festivals.
  • To direct and coach the team of supporters and their team captains.
  • Supporting the publicity campaign regarding petitions.
  • To answer questions from people who have signed petitions

Qualifications

  • HBO (higher education)/University degree
  • Experience in organizing
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch and preferably English
  • Able to work well both independently and within a team
  • Affinity with Fairfood’s goals

What do we offer?
A versatile position in an enthusiastic and fun team. We do not pay you any wages or allowances. However we offer you a free lunch and reimburse travel expenses. For Fairfood, unpaid employees are equally important as paid employees. They receive the same employee accompaniment (e.g. progress meetings) and the same possibilities as paid employees.
