From 12 to 16 October 2015, Fairfood will be organising the Global Food Week. This year’s theme is: ‘The World on Your Plate’.
There are a bazillion food products in the world, ranging from fruits, nuts, grains, vegetables, meat and seafood to an endless selction of processed foods. All these foods have been sowed, harvested, caught, killed, produced, processed, packaged, prepared, transported, traded, valued and sold by people.
If you trace your food back to its origins, many of the food comes from countries far from home. Have you ever asked yourself where your food comes from? Have you ever stopped to consider the distance your food has to travel before it ends up on your plate?
This Global Food Week we want to take you on a journey: the journey of food. For this purpose, we are looking for a ‘roving reporter’ who wants to be part of a team that visits tomato workers and their families in Morocco from 6 to 9 October 2015. The team will get an opportunity to conduct interviews and make photo/video reportages. During Global Food Week, their impressions in video, photos and blogs will be published through our media channels and further promoted in cooperation with our media partners.
Let us know in any digital form (photo, video, animation, infographic or a blog), why you would be the perfect reporter. What does ‘The world is on your plate’ mean to you?
Become a member of our Facebook page, post your idea of ‘The world on your plate’ on your timeline and tag Fairfood International, or you can email us your contribution via firstname.lastname@example.org before Thursday, 24 September 2015 (so the deadline is on 23 september at 23.59). You can enter your contribution in either Dutch or English.
The winner will be announced on Friday, 25 September 2015.
Your trip will take place from 6 to 9 October, departing from Amsterdam to Agadir, and we will take care of all travel arrangements*. You will travel together with a staff member from Fairfood and the well-known food blogger ChicksloveFood. In Morocco, you will meet local tomato workers and their families. You will get an opportunity to conducts interviews and make photo/video reportages.
