The Fairfood Foundation has its office in Amsterdam. Its articles were registered by a public notary in 2002. On 1 July 2005, the articles were modified and a Supervisory board was instated. This board supervises the management board. The Fairfood Foundation is registered at the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce under the number 34141098.
Organisation structure
Fairfood has a flat organisation structure. It consists of a Supervisory board, a director and five line departments. Along with the five line department managers, the director forms the Management Team responsible for the general policy. Each department is divided into 4 to 6 projects. The line managers guide and assist project leaders who in their turn supervise unpaid project assistants. Supervisory board members do not receive any salary or expense compensation. You can find more information on Fairfood’s structure in the annual reports and the organisation chart.
Professional
Fairfood is a professional organisation. This is why we are CBF (Central Bureau for Fundraising) certified. CBF has the right to inspect our data and sees to it that no more than 25% of Fairfood’s earnings are spent on fundraising. They also keep an eye on how the money is spent. As Fairfood complies with all CBF certification standards, you can rest assured your support to Fairfood is well worth it.
Transparent
Fairfood is transparent. Anyone should be able to understand what Fairfood does. When visiting the site you can read, for instance, Fairfood’s annual report and annual accounts. The association to CBF also provides openness on what goes on at Fairfood.
The future
In 2020, Fairfood wants to be the European authority in the field of sustainability in everyday food and beverage products. Fairfood will realize this by lobbying with food and beverage companies and by stimulating them to use sustainable production and trade practices, so the shopping cart will be filled with sustainable products. In this way, Fairfood wants to contribute to the eradication of worldwide hunger and poverty.
