What is Fairfood?

Fairfood is an international non-profit campaign and lobby organisation, which prompts the food and beverage industry to make its production and trade more sustainable. In this way Fairfood contributes to the fight against hunger and poverty across the globe.

Campaign & Lobby

The Campaign & Lobby department is responsible for selling the Fairfood message to four different target groups: food and beverage brand owners; food and beverage resellers (like restaurants or caterers); politicians and consumers in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Furthermore, the Campaign & Lobby department is responsible for strengthening Fairfood's base. These projects are led by five paid project leaders, each with the help of two to four unpaid project assistants.

What are the responsibilities of the Project Assistant Brand Owners? 

The project Brand Owners main objective is to encourage companies to produce (more) fair products. As the Project Assistant Brand Owners you will occupy yourself with the preparation and execution of duties to effectively affect companies and to set them in motion to produce their products in a fair manner. You will reproduce the outcome in a policy towards lobbying.

Your tasks are among others:

• To develop a policy to encourage companies to produce fair products.
• To find out which companies can be approached for the lobby targets based on information provided by the Research department.
• To maintain contact with companies (via e-mail or by phone).
• To give feedback to the Research department and other departments.
• To support the Project Leader Brand Owners in the execution of the lobby.

Qualifications

• Minimal higher education (HBO) working- and thinking level
• Experience in lobbying is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch and English
• Able to work well both independently and within a team
• Affinity with Fairfood’s goals
• Knowledge of companies in relation to corparate sustainability

What do we offer?

A versatile position in an enthusiastic and fun team. We do not pay you any wages or allowances. However we offer you a free lunch and reimburse travel expenses.
