Project Assistant Public Relations

Communication
The Communication Department's main responsibility is to inform consumers, companies and politicians. The department is directed by the Communication Manager. The department is responsible for 4 projects: Public Relations, Advertising, Publicity Stunt and Website. The projects are led by four paid project leaders, each with the help of two to four unpaid project assistants.
What are the responsibilities of the Project Assistant PR?
As Project Assistant PR you will take care of editorial media exposure for Fairfood with as little means as possible.
Your tasks are among others:
- To contact and to maintain contact with the press.
- To providing input (images, text, sound) to the press, and to make sure this will be published accordingly.
- To write and edit texts, such as press releases.
- To respond to events by forwarding articles, sending in letters, etc.
At the moment we are looking for an assistant who can help us achieve the following:
Fairfood’s research results are published once a year in June. This means we need to provide a new list of fair and unfair products on our website: an important moment in the press for Fairfood. Specific tasks are: (re)writing website texts, writing press releases, organizing a (special) press conference and trying to get as much media attention as possible.
NOTE:
We are looking for Project Assistants PR as well as a specific Project Assistant for the project as mentioned above. Important to add that for this specific project you need a certain level of writing skills.

Qualifications
- Minimal higher education (HBO) working- and thinking level, preferably related to communication
- Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch as well as English
- Able to work well both independently and within a team
- Affinity with Fairfood’s goals
- Experience with PR is a plus
