What is Fairfood?
Fairfood is an international non-profit campaign and lobby organisation, which prompts the food and beverage industry to make its production and trade more sustainable. In this way Fairfood contributes to the fight against hunger and poverty across the globe.

Research
The Research department is Fairfood’s centre of knowledge. The department collects and organizes up-to-date information and knowledge concerning global trade, food and beverage production. The central focus of the department is this research, which leads to Fairfood’s annual shopping guide with products which Fairfood advises consumers to ‘buy’ or ’Don’t buy’. The department is responsible for five projects: Fairness Criteria, Sector Analysis, Product Analysis, Assurance and Solution Analysis. The projects are led by six paid Project Leaders, each with the help of two to six unpaid Project Assistants.

The Project Solution Analysis
The Solution Analysis project involves researching viable sustainable agro-food related practices and initiatives from the field that can serve to be examples for advice to companies and politicians. The aim of this project is to contribute to the process of increasing the sustainability level of food and beverage products. This project is subdivided into two: Solution Analysis [General] and Solution Analysis [In-depth]. While the former focuses on Solutions identification, investigation and documentation across several agro-food sectors, the latter concentrates on in-depth study and documentation of solutions already identified for the specific agro-food sectors relevant for Fairfood's immediate campaign trajectories.
