Founder Eelco Fortuijn hands over the torch

PRESS REPORT
Amsterdam, 17 January 2008

Per 1 January 2008 Fairfood's founder Eelco Fortuijn (1970) has passed on his directorship to Frank van der Linde (1968), previously managing director with Fairfood. Fortuijn will stay available fulltime for Fairfood until June 2008 as advisor and spokesman. After that, he will stay involved with Fairfood as external advisor.

After five years of fast growth, Fairfood stands firm. In Fortuijn's words: "The days of pioneering are over." Besides the advisorship for Fairfood, Fortuijn will also explore other horizons. "I have thousands of ideas and I would like to develop them", said Fortuijn.

After working for, among others, Fair Trade Original and Amnesty International, Frank van der Linde was asked four years ago to implement his organisational skill for Fairfood. Under his supervision Fairfood has grown into an established organisation of 24 paid co-workers (and three times as much unpaid co-workers) and has taken the first steps towards foreign countries. Under the direction of Van der Linde, Fairfood wants to develop into THE European campaign and lobby organisation for increasing the sustainability of  food consumption.
