ACERT Africa

Fairfood International and ACERT Africa engaged in a partnership to develop and share knowledge on fairness issues including labour rights, standards, and corporate social responsibility in international (food) production chains, and especially in the fruit sector in South Africa. The partnership also entails capacity building through trainings on (social) auditing.

ACERT Africa is a privately owned company established in 2007 that provides a number of assurance services related to agricultural production and processing cycles throughout South Africa. The main activities of the company consist of inspection, auditing, training and facilitation. The training and facilitation service are designed to raise awareness about the possibility to adhere to private certification schemes and they are customized according to the needs and requirements of the clients. ACERT Africa is also providing evaluations against international recognized standards and retailer approved ethical (social) audits in the fresh fruit and wine industry.
