COSADER

Collectif des ONG pour la Sécurité Alimentaire et le Développement Rural (NGO Action Group for Food Security and Rural Development, COSADER)

COSADER
was created in 1996 with the purpose of gathering the NGOs and associations working to promote food security and rural development in order to make their efforts more visible and effective. Being active in the ten provinces of Cameroon through different representations, COSADER trains groups of producers in agribusiness and management capacity. As an umbrella organization, COSADER supports and coordinates the cooperation between its members and the Cameroonian government, and other similar structures from different countries. In addition, COSADER has facilitated the establishment of new organizations that are active in the fight against hunger, conflict prevention and resolution, as well as in monitoring public policies. Through advocacy and seminars, COSADER has intended to influence the agricultural policies and reform as well as to strengthen the organizational capacity women enterprises at the rural level.
Fairfood International and COSADER have agreed to unite their efforts toward meeting the common goal of fighting against hunger and poverty by exchanging information and experiences concerning developments in labour rights and environmental issues in the food production chains.
