Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) – Kenya

Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) is a national membership Organisation for organic agriculture in Kenya. It emerged from a consultative process where organic practitioners came together to achieve the synergy required in the development of the organic subsector. It was formed to coordinate, facilitate and provide leadership and professional services to all members and other stakeholders in the organic agriculture industry in Kenya.

The overall goal of KOAN is to co-ordinate the development of the OA sector into a vibrant industry that contributes to food security, economic development and environmental sustainability

Through the interventions of KOAN in collaboration with stakeholders, the Kenyan organic movement has evolved into a highly beneficial industry having a positive and far-reaching impact on the environment and socio-economic status of this country. Its activities have direct impacts on the livelihoods of many small-scale farmers and on organic agricultural and natural products enterprises in Kenya.

In April 2010, KOAN and Fairfood International signed a partnership agreement with the joint objective to develop and share knowledge and information
