NCDO

NCDO, short for Nationale Commissie voor Internationale Samenwerking en Duurzame Ontwikkeling, is an important financial partner of Fairfood.

NCDO involves the public in international development cooperation and supplies it with related information, subsidies and advice. The Millennium Development Goals are the central theme within the activities of NCDO. These goals were agreed upon by 189 countries in the year 2000 and aim to halve poverty worldwide before 2015.

NCDO organises campaigns, debates, educational activities, expositions, media productions and cultural projects in order to enlarge the support for international development cooperation and to make the millennium goals better known among the public. Furthermore, NCDO promotes the efforts of the Dutch government and its citizens to reach these millennium goals.

NCDO supports people and organisations within the Netherlands that are dedicated to improving the position of people in developing countries. These local development projects are supported through advice and subsidies provided by NCDO.
