The ministry of VROM supports Fairfood through the Civil Society Organisations and Environment Grant Regulation (SMOM). The SMOM grant regulation supports civil society initiatives in the areas of environment and sustainable development in the national and international context. Through the SMOM regulation, organisations are capable of launching innovative, social and solution focused initiatives in the areas of environment and sustainable development in such a way that citizens are being involved. Furthermore, through this regulation, the government gets an overview of the developments and initiatives within society which increases its ability to meet societal demands.
