Update from Anselm, Fairfood’s new Executive Director

30 August 2012

Dear Fairfood followers,

It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of Fairfood International. As a long time Fairfood supporter, I am excited and honoured to have been chosen to represent Fairfood in this esteemed position. I succeed Frank van der Linde whose hard work and dedication at Fairfood during the last seven years I deeply appreciate.

My personal connection to family farming and local food, affords me valuable insight into how the positive actions taken by key stakeholders in the food industry towards their responsibility can help to secure a more sustainable future for generations to come.

I am privileged to be working with well motivated, dedicated and professional staff; supportive and active partners and an engaging group of followers. In addition, it is exciting to know that our working relationship with food and beverage companies is growing globally.

We are beginning a new phase at Fairfood, whereby we aim to be stronger in our resolve to encourage companies to transparently acknowledge their responsibility towards sustainability and to further mitigate and prevent the negative impacts of their business activities on the environment and on the lives of vulnerable groups associated with their production chains.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind messages and words of encouragement that have been extended to me over the past few weeks. As we work towards transforming the food industry, I ask that you join our cause and our communities on Facebook and Twitter, so that we can work together to change the food industry and make it more sustainable.

I look forward to working with you all.

Thank you and kind regards,

Anselm Iwundu
